Shopify product spreadsheet: every column explained

One row per variant

A product spreadsheet has one row for every variant. Product-level fields — title, description, vendor, tags — are written on the first row of each product. When you import, the first non-empty value in a product's rows is used.

Identity: ID, Handle, Variant ID

These columns decide which product a row updates. ID and Variant ID are Shopify's own numbers; keep them as they are. If a row has no ID, Bulkvane matches by Handle. No match means a new product is created from the row's Title.

Details, SEO and media

• Title, Body HTML (the description), Vendor, Type, Tags and Status describe the product.
• SEO Title and SEO Description control what search engines show.
• Image Src takes a public image URL. Shopify downloads it during the import.

Options and variants

Option1–3 Name are set once per product (for example Size, Color). Option1–3 Value are set on every variant row. Variant SKU, Barcode, Price and Compare At Price belong to each variant.

Read-only columns

Variant Inventory Qty, Created At and Updated At are exported for reference and ignored on import. To change stock, add an “Inventory: <location name>” column per location — Bulkvane updates available stock there, and never overwrites stock that changed since the preview.
