Is it safe to run Bulkvane on my live store?
Yes. Nothing changes until you've seen a preview of every field and pressed Apply. Before an import runs, Bulkvane saves a snapshot of each item it will touch, so you can undo the whole import for 30 days.
What exactly does Undo restore?
Undo puts back the fields an import changed — titles, prices, SKUs, tags, SEO, metafields, stock, customer details, collection conditions and products — deletes items the import created, and re-creates items it deleted (with a new ID). It doesn't roll back orders, analytics or changes made by hand after the import.
Which data can I import and export?
Products and variants (including images, SEO, product metafields and inventory per location), customers with their default address, and smart and manual collections. Export any mix of them into one Excel file with a sheet per type. Orders and variant metafields aren't supported.
Which files and sources work?
Excel (.xlsx) and CSV uploads, plus links to a Google Sheet, Google Drive or Dropbox file, or any direct CSV/Excel link (up to 20 MB). Bulkvane reads its own headers, Shopify's native CSV headers and common aliases, so most existing files import without renaming anything.
I use another bulk app. Will my files work?
Usually, yes. Shopify's own product and customer CSV headers are recognised, and Excel workbooks with sheets named Products, Customers, Collections, Smart Collections or Custom Collections are split into one import per sheet. The preview shows exactly what will change before you apply anything.
Can I edit products without a spreadsheet file?
Yes. The spreadsheet editor lets you edit products in a grid inside Shopify — paste from Excel or Google Sheets, fill down, undo and redo. When you review, the edits go through the same checks, preview and 30-day undo as a file import.
What happens if my file has mistakes?
The preview lists every problem in plain words with the row number — for example, “ID 7.2E+12 was shortened by your spreadsheet program. Format the ID column as Text and export again.” Common mistakes such as currency symbols or decimal commas are fixed for you. Rows with errors are skipped; the rest can still be applied.
How much does it cost?
Free covers up to 10 items per job. Starter is $12 a month (5,000 items per job), Growth $39 (50,000) and Pro $149 (unlimited). Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial, once per store. Billing runs through Shopify, so it appears on your Shopify invoice and you can cancel at any time.
How does the AI assistant connection work?
Bulkvane is an MCP server. Create a token under Settings → AI assistants, connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code or any app that supports MCP, and ask about your jobs, errors, templates and catalog health. The assistant can start exports but cannot change your store, and every call is logged.
Does Bulkvane use my store data to train AI?
No. Bulkvane doesn't send your data to any AI model on its own. When you connect an AI assistant, the answers you ask for are sent to that assistant, under its provider's terms. We never use your data to train models.
Is Bulkvane available in my language?
The app and its emails are available in English, Español, Français, Deutsch and Português (Brasil). Bulkvane follows your Shopify admin language automatically, or you can pick a language in Settings. Messages in import checks and results files are in English.
How fast is it?
Exports use Shopify's Bulk Operations API, so thousands of products export in minutes. Imports run in the background — close the tab and get an email when they finish.
