Column reference: the Bulkvane file format

How the file is laid out

• Products: one row per variant. Product-level columns are written on the first row of each product. On import, the first non-empty value in a product's rows is used.
• Customers: one row per customer.
• Collections: the details on the first row; one condition or one product per row.
• Columns you leave out, and empty cells, are left unchanged in Shopify (except in Replace mode).
• Excel (.xlsx) and CSV both work. Excel files can hold one sheet per data type.

Metafield columns

Name a column “Metafield: namespace.key [type]”, for example “Metafield: custom.material [single_line_text_field]”. Shopify's style “Material (product.metafields.custom.material)” works too; the type then comes from your metafield definition. Values are checked per type — booleans, numbers, dates, colors, URLs, JSON — and “a; b; c” becomes a list.

Inventory columns

Name a column “Inventory: <location name>”. It holds each variant's available quantity at that location, as a whole number. Empty cells never change stock.

Customer columns

ID, Email, First Name, Last Name, Phone, Note, Tags, Tax Exempt, Company, Address 1, Address 2, City, Province Code, Country Code, Zip, Address Phone. Read-only: Email Marketing, SMS Marketing, Orders Count, Amount Spent, Created At, Updated At.

Collection columns

ID, Handle, Title, Body HTML, Sort Order, Image Src, SEO Title, SEO Description, Must Match, Rule: Product Column, Rule: Relation, Rule: Condition, Product: ID, Product: Handle. Read-only: Collection Type, Updated At.
